Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am not able to attend the whole week. May I only come part of the time?

A: Absolutely! Let us know which days you will be attending, and we will prorate your cost of attendance.

 

Q: Do I have to share a room with another student?

A: No. You may reserve a single room for an additional fee.

 

Q: Can I choose my roommate?

A: Yes. Please be sure the specify your roommate preference on your application form, and we will do our best to put you together.

 

Q: I can't bring my own harp. Is that a problem?

A: Bringing your own harp is strongly recommended if possible. SHA has limited rental harps available for a fee $120 for the week. These harps will be shared with other students who are not bringing their own harps.

 

Q: If I bring my own harp, can I keep it in my hotel room?

A: Yes. You may also choose to store your harp in one of the SHA classrooms.

 

Q: Do I need to bring my own strings?

A: If you are bringing your own harp, you are responsible for your own strings, bench and music stand. The Summer Harp Academy will provide strings for the program's harps. Please bring your own tuning key and tuner. 

 

Q: I am driving. Will I be able to park at Lake Junaluska?

A: Yes, there is ample free parking for guests.

 

Q: Can I pay online?

A: Unfortunately, at this time we only accept checks. Please make checks payable to The Summer Harp Academy.
